I remembered what a joy it is to be on site with one of you, exploring the light, the background, and poses.
Last Friday, I was feeling such yearning to set up a portrait session and snap away that I decided to take the dolls I have on hand and play for a bit.
It’s not the same as having you in front of me (obviously) and these ladies just go where I tell them to, but for a few minutes at least, I remembered what a joy it is to be on site with one of you, exploring the light, the background, and poses. I thought about all our conversations and all the things we learn about one another when we work together. I thought about the stories these ‘ladies’ had to tell.
It is possible that this quarantine has returned the child to me.
Stories bring me joy.
I thought about how you begin to relax and trust me when we work together and wonder if you know how much your trust means to me?
I know we will one day be able to return to portrait sessions, perhaps sooner rather than later if I use my 85mm and you hang out on your porch or in your yard, but nothing compares to you.
Remember that.
I miss you!
